Ibara: Kuro

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been focusing mainly on pinball since last time, but in the last few weeks I’ve thought more and more about my lovely shmups, so that feels great. Getting back on track. Anyway: I popped in Ibara Kuro for the first time in months and broke my old high score on the first credit. My old record was in the low 5 mil, so this is a big step up for a mediocre player like me. I even made it to stage 5 for the first time!

Yesterdays arcade meetup

A total of 13 people from AT showed up for yesterdays arcade meetup in the basement. We ate sausages (made in a professional sausage heater), played games, drank some beer and had a great afternoon. Thanks for showing up guys!

Ibara Kuro: Black Label

From the first minute I saw a video of Ibara Kuro: Black Label, I knew I had to get one! STV had two kits for sale, and when DarthBoMan bought the last of those two I knew that time was running out. I heard there was only 200 Kuro PCB’s made in total, and they don’t seem to show up for sale too often!

Sophia had a bare PCB (and their only one) for sale, so I just had to snatch it!

My second CAVE kit

Just a few weeks after DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou arrived I got another deal I could not refuse. I’ve been hunting this game for a quite a while now, and since CAVE only release 150 boards this game is really hard to find. Here’s my precious Mushihime-sama Futari Black Label kit.

My first CAVE kit

Wow, time really flies. I’ll try to update you guys a bit in the coming week. Since the 25:th of june I’ve got some new games. I have also been selling off some old stuff.

Let’s just skip the crap and get right on the candy:

I saw a DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou kit for sale at the shmups forum, so I sent a PM to the salesman and asked him if he could be interested in a trade against a DonDonPachi PCB plus some cash. He accepted the deal! :)

First meetup in the new house

Yesterday we had a small gathering in our new house. DarthBoMan and P373R showed up, as always, together with a special guest: monouchi, who traveled all the way from the far away town of Uppsala to get to the party. We played DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu ver 1.5, Battle Bakraid, Armed Police Batrider, Ketsui, Mushihimesama 1.5 (on the Xbox 360) and the latest member in the family, the Jurassic Park pinball machine!

Edit: Yeah, the Sega Blast City is gone. I traded it against a Egret II. So the current setup (show on the images above) is: Sega New Astro City, Taito Egret II, Data East Jurassic Park pinball & NTSC-J Xbox 360 setup.

Battle Bakraid

Last months news:

In March, at a game night with DarthBoMan & P373R I played Battle Bakraid for the first time. It was love at first sight, I just had to get one myself. After a few days of searching I found a PCB for sale at Sophia Arcade resulting in me getting my first Raizing shmup a week after. Awesomesauce!

Ketsui PCB

Sorry for the lack of updates. We are in the middle of moving from our small apartment to a row house, and with all PCB:s stored in boxes there’s not much of an idea to play.

Anyway, since the last updated I’ve gotten myself a Ketsui board. I got the PCB just a few days before trap15 released his Ketsui Arrange version. A few minutes after the release of Ketsui Arrange, I went straight to my good friend Peter who programmed a EPROM with Ketsui Arrange for me. Thanks mate!
