Death Smiles PCB

I have been eager to get a new horizontal shooter to the Sega Blast City for a while now. Progear no Arashi has been glued in the cabinet since I rotated the monitor, and I thought it would be a good idea to find a reasonable priced horizontal shooter. Said and done, I sold my Mushihimesama PCB a few weeks ago and found Death Smiles for a bargain directly from Japan!

Game night at DarthBoMan’s

My good friend DarthBoMan held a small gathering yesterday for the “Täby mob” that consist by the host himself, P373R and me. We played some Armed Police Batrider (1CC done by DarthBoMan), Battle Bakraid (I got the highscore), DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou (Highscore by me) and Puyo Puyo 2. Awesome game night, as always. Cheers!

Arcade meetup at SuperMotaro

I took the car yesterday evening to Swedens famous arcade café, SuperMotaro, for an arcade meetup. Last time they held a meetup there were about 30 participants, but this time, probably due to late listing, we were only a few brave souls that outfaced the cold february night.

Arcade keychain

Arcade Keychain

I woke up this morning and felt I needed a new keychain for the cabinets. I got inspired earlier by the Focus Attack keychains, but the shipping cost from USA to Sweden is a bugger, so I decided to make one for myself instead with stuff I already got in the shelves. I think this little project turned out great!

Fancy one? I’ve got spares to make at least 50 more of these. Send me a message through the contact form and I’ll make you one for the cost of parts plus postage. Tell me if you want it in red, yellow or black, and with or without a button.

New arrival: DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou

I sold a few games last week to finance something new. And then, from out of nowhere, Dai Ou Jou came up for sale at the shmups forum. When opening the case i noticed that battery was still on the board and it looked like it had just started to corrode. The PCB was free from acid, but I cut the battery of directly to be on the safe side.

DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu ver 1.5

I finally got my video capture device working last month and wanted to capture some DDP DFK 1.5 gameplay as a quality test. I still have a very hard time at stage 5 even though I play in bomb-mode. I’ve managed to get further a few times, but not making any major progress. DDP DFK 1.5 is still one of the best Cave games in my book!

Actual gameplay starts around 1:30.

New arrival: Muchi Muchi Pork (PCB, Cave)

Got a Muchi Muchi Pork PCB from Sophia Corporation a few days ago. PCB seems to be brand new. No scratch marks on the board and the score board was empty too. That, together with the Harahara and Manpuku modes was not yet actived makes me think the board is brand new. I went straight ahead activating both Harahara and Manpuku, not that I will ever 1cc MMP on normal mode, but just for the fun.

How to activate Harahara mode:
Once the code has been entered, the Harahara mode is permanently (irreversibly) saved to the PCB.
A, B, Right, Right, C, C, Left, B, Left, A, A, Up, Down.
When the Harahara mode is activated, you’ll enter it by holding DOWN and then press START at the title screen.

How to activate Manpuku mode:
Once the code has been entered, the Manpuku mode is permanently (irreversibly) saved to the PCB.
Right, Left, Left, B, B, B, Down, Left, Up, A, B, Right, C.
When the Manpuku mode is activated, you’ll enter it by holding DOWN and then press START at the title screen.
